Yeah, I'm sticking with "White Sugar" for that movie especially. Though, I have been told by 3 different people that "Ballet Dances" and "I Could" are probably our best chance at succeeding on the radio. Just fyi.

For some reason when I watch that trailer, there is no sound, so I dont really know what the movie is about, but it seems that a song like WS would fit better than most for that movie, and its a bit more polished than some of the other songs. Fade would maybe work for a movie too.

Question about processors:

So, if AMDs processors have a bus speed 2.5 times faster than Intel, does that mean that the equivalent processor (as far as speed goes; which is all we care about) for Intel's frequency would have to be rated at 2.5 times the frequency of an AMD processor?

What I want to really know is an Athlon at 2.4GHz with a 2000MHz bus speed is really rated much higher in terms of it's GHz? Like if you normalize it to 800MHz (like Intel)?

Is an Intel 3.8GHz processor at 800MHz (assuming all Hyper-Threading and all that extra shit) faster or slower than an AMD 2.4GHz at 2000MHz? Cause I'm in the mindset that the AMD is faster right now. Especially with the dual-core stuff. I know Intel has dual-core processors too, but that's what I'm getting at. Which is faster?

I don't want to drop $1200 on an FX-60 even though I know it kicks Intel's ass. So I was looking at putting an X2 4800+ in the desktop I plan to build in the near future.

Processors dont have as much impact on speed for games and whatnot as you might think. Thats mainly the graphics card's area. But, usually I think when AMD has a processor that is like for instance Athlon 2000, well thats 2000 MHz, but they will also say 2.4GHz or something because that speed is what is comparable to Intel's clock speed. I think it would be bad marketing otherwise, because then they would be requiring the consumer to research the fact that when AMD says 2 GHz its actually comparable to a 2.5 GHz Intel. Hopefully that makes sense.

Yeah, I know the Gcard has a lot to do with graphical stuff. But it pisses me off how long it takes to load Audition and I know that is processor based. However, when you turn down the graphics in a lot of MMOs (probably the only game genre this applies to, but I know it does as people have done benchmarks), the lag you get is from the internet and processors.

In any event, I think I'm settling on that X2 4800+. Now I just need to find $1200 sitting around to buy dual 7600GTX cards (with 512 MUTHA FUCKAS!!!). Might as well get 4 gigs of RAM while I'm at it. Never hurts (anything except the wallet that is. Oh ho ho ho! I made a funny).

Since my only computer is my laptop now I cant really upgrade, but I dont have any reason to really. I dont play computer games anymore.

Upgrading from single core to dual-core is a real noticable difference. The engineering lab has Intel Pentium D's (dual core) but all I do on those is browse the web. I have an Athlon 3800+ and that means it is the equivalent to a 3.8 Ghz Intel, it runs slower than that. Intel has a rule that their clockspeeds should double every year (Moore's Law maybe?) and that's why AMD started kicking their ass with 64-bit and dual core processors. According to Mad Money though Intel will have a better product line in the future.

I made a stop in Des Moines at my favorite cajon restaurant. It was delicious. Then when we got done my car did that thing where it doesn't start, I think Dan has seen that. Usually it starts if I let it sit a minute. It didn't though. So i put the hood up and left jumper cables hanging out and not even a police officer that drove by stopped to help. So I arranged for a tow to the nearest garage which took about an hour. Then the guy backed it off the truck and I tried to start it just for the hell of it, and it started. So then we left.
