So Grant, I'm looking at registering a website. How does GoDaddy treat you? Do you think I should look into a different host?

I just bought my domains at godaddy, for that they are pretty good. You can just Google godaddy coupons when it's time to renew and you save a few bucks a year. Hosting is done at dreamhost. They are so far the best I've ever dealt with. They wrote their own backend control panel which is easy to use. Most host's the same piece of shit that you can buy.

What kind of website are you putting up?

Well more than one actually- one for all the media content that I've made in hopes that I'll be inclined to finish some of that crap. If that works out like I hope, then I may make a site for my mom's horse business and finally my name.com or because they say everyone should register their name as a domain.

Grant, I'm debating between dreamhost.com (looks simpler) and hostmonster.com (seems to be cheaper). What do you think is better? What other hosts have you had?

These are all the places I've paid.

Destroyed the whole site, I didn't have a backup and neither did they, lost all the comics.

Mormons. Otherwise decent.

You get your own computer, but it's more expensive, and it's a really shitty computer, and you have to deal with patching your own system. Requires a lot of linux bullshit.

These guys are pretty decent would recommend. They have a lot of problems because all shared hosts oversell their servers, these guys specialize in video sites which puts even more load on the servers, and when you contact support it's some guy in India.

No complaints so far, if you go with dreamhost, use that link so I get money :D I like dreamhosts control panel a lot more than cPanel, which is what everyone else and hostmonster uses.

I did have the one Comic, for some strange reason, so not all was lost.

That was when I lived with David, days before he had asked me for all the comics so I made a zip and gave it to him, but he must have deleted them since his computer probably had 1 MB of storage. Taught me a lesson though. I now have over 1.5 TB of hard disk space, and run a daily backup of one drive onto the other so I have two current copies of every file.

By the way, is David dead? Dan have you gone to see him, since you moved to Vegas?

I have not seen him, but I have talked to him a couple times. He and Ben might be coming to Vegas in mid January and I also might see him in Iowa City at the end of December.
