In the beginning, there was nothing... which exploded. So began the creation of the universe and all her wondrous glory. Leave that to stew for a few billion years and before you know it, it's the summer of 2001 AD on the planet Earth in the Milky Way galaxy. G, E, and Dizler were sitting around and decided Sioux City, Iowa needed to be rocked hardcore. Thus, the infamous "Sahara" jam was recorded... with a drum machine. After a few months of thinking about what needed to be done with the current state of the world, G, E, and Dizler recruited Krazy Kevin to replace the drum machine. Soon after D was added, aided by J-Dog and Math Camp, to the band as front man and singer.

The following year was a whirlwind of recordings; only actually consisting of the same four to five songs. Some songs like the rare "Warm-Up" were almost lost with time until recently discovered in the Vinyl archives, while other songs have been the staple of Vinyl's musical diet. Most notably, "She's Bad," which included the ever-popular back-up vocals of J-Dog and Math Camp (also known as the Flashlites), became a mainstay in the Vinyl repertoire.

The winter of 2002 AD was plagued with a relative sag in Vinyl activity due to a squabble between D and Dizler. This turmoil resulted in Dizler's leave. E and Krazy Kevin found it humorous and shrugged it off only to find that Dizler was in fact, not beating around the bush. The world was in outrage and Vinyl heard its call for more rock. Acting quickly, Vinyl enlisted the guitar-shredding talents of Ned to fill the guitar gap. Few recordings were made during this time and two songs were lost forever: "Flower Children" and "Don't Do That." Earth, having thought Vinyl to have failed in its mission to bring the rock to all her people, became sad and wept for the first time ever, Kit style.

After roughly three months of this nonsense, Dizler came to his senses and ousted Ned to reclaim his throne as Grand Master Shredder of Vinyl. [b:2fcjw6mn]And the Lord did grin, and the people of mother earth did feast upon the lambs and sloths and carp and anchovies and orangutans and breakfast cereals and fruit bats.[/b:2fcjw6mn] With this new comeback, Vinyl did an impressive amount of shows for the following year, until D, having found his calling in art, left the band.

Ths loss was dire and there were whispers in the halls of North High that Ned might replace D. These whispers were confirmed for the select few who saw the once-in-a-lifetime show at Wad's birthday bash. This arrangement was short-lived however, and soon entered the great talents of Prego-Craigo.

Vinyl had now the key components to rock the world with "bankrupt vibrations." A new level of recording equipment was brought into the mix with Prego-Craigo and the foundations of the soon to be recorded Stairway to Upstairs EP were laid. Vinyl worked especially hard over the winter break of 2003 AD. An eight-hour session occurred over Christmas Eve. Afterwards, fingers were bleeding, arms were mangled, and voices were broken. However, this dedication to the rock placed Vinyl in the upper echelon of music and soon recording time was won... for free.

With the summer of 2004 AD, came few shows due to Dizler and E contracting to another temporary band. There was a rare show played where Prego-Craigo had an ill-fated turn of events and Krow had to sit in. After an entire day of prep and many cans of Hillbilly Holler, Vinyl rocked the house once more with a special guest. This particular summer was unfortunately marred by the growing anxiety of G, E, Dizler, and Prego-Craigo leaving for college. Krazy Kevin, left behind in Sioux City, is doomed to a lonely year of high school until the summer of 2005 AD when Vinyl will be back for the attack!
