David and I were thinking along the lines of Jesses Girl or Teenager in Love. The latter would probably require some work though. Im cool with any of the other suggestions, but I dont know what Barriers is.

we're getting a number of referrals from the CCC website which I hope is a sign that people are coming to the show. And I say we just do landing as we only have 1 week to finish the album, so we (mainly I) don't have to learn a new song, and we should probably play originals if its a CD release party anyway.

$70 for a pair of speakers and a powered mixer. I have it reserved but we can cancel easily. I figure we can get scotopic shift to provide mics???

Let me know so dan can either confirm or cancel with bob. My vote is for creative by the way.

I believe what we have right now is three decent mics and two decent stands. I'm not sure though, I have my mic and cabling here, the rest is known only to Scott.

yeah i have plenty of cable's and two stands assuming eric brings his home. I'd just rather save $100 because that room is the size of a honda civic!!! We won't have monitors, but we may be able to piece somthing together from our little PA for that.

Shit....I hate having to tell people no, but $70 vs $150? We might not be able to do quite as good a job, but Eric has some experience with sound, as do Keenan and Scott. Do you know how big the speakers are?

As long as it's better than the little ones we (and SS) own. Only need to mic vocals. Kids need to learn to control their own amp volumes anyway. I fucking can't stand it when I run sound and some bitch thinks I'm going to know when he's soloing while he's standing behind 2 guys and has his amp too low. Or vice versa and I can't turn the bitch down cause he's too fucking loud on stage.

Not going to mic amps or drums at all? Drums might not cut through if you get people like Splenetic with their full stacks and whatnot in there.

If someone wants to go to CREATIVE and check it out, just drop my name, and possibly many more details when that doesn't work.

As for splenetic we will introduce them to a new feature on amps, the volume knob

The rooms as big as Kevin's basement, and I can always hear Kevin fine with my amp in ghetto blastin' mode.

Yeah, but bands like Splenetic make their guitars just a wall of sound. Can't really hear anything. But whatev. I stand by my statement that guitarists don't know how to dynamically adjust their own volumes.

I'm sure Splenetic will be just fine. KEVIN!!!!!!!!!! go to creative and look at the PA.

The problem with turning a full stack down that much is that their gain structure is going to be completely different and they're going to bitch about "oh we sucked that night because our amps weren't working how they were supposed to"

Actually Im not too sure that turning the volume down on the amps would affect the gain that much. I guess if it comes down to it we can find some way to mic the drums. I would appreciate it though if someone in Sioux City would visit creative to see the size of the speakers.

the beauty of a full stack is that you can half it (half stack) and thus lowers the volume without changing the overall sound. V=ir and such. ( yes i know that doesn't make sense, i'm done with school so screw you.) We've played shows without micing anything but vocals before, and we're still alive, I guess if you really want Bob we can still do that, (my mom knows him maybe we could negotiate a deal) I'm a greedy musician who only cares about profits, I've lost all creative vision, put in a quarter and out pops a number one hit, yeah, word!

and now a free cd to whoever can tell what this is

just kidding I love money $CFB$!!!!!!!!!

Is the language CFB? Or is it XML or something? Looks like a language from the LISP family.

I did notice the genres in there and thought it might be some type of media player but was not sure. Because I am not very good at that stuff.

Also, I though Dan and Kevin were sending out invites to people I did not get one.

I just realized a huge flaw in our posters.....we didnt make a flier for the show....we made only a flier for ourselves....we need to make show fliers too.
