Honestly though, I'd almost rather we do it ourselves if we get 2 or 3 decent condenser mics. I bet we can get more done on our own, not to mention only getting 10 hours. I think between Dan, Grant, and I, there is enough experience with audio editing and recording to make it sound good. Just my 2 cents.

I agree, we use the time at flood, then finish off the album ourselves.

Right, we can record 5 songs at Flood and 5 or so songs by ourselves and call it an album. Plus Im getting sick of this getting pushed back. Is July 11-15 good for everyone who visits this forum?

Keenan, I know you like to think you are sooo important and everything, but sometimes you just need to cater to other peoples schedules!

So I just realized I recorded "Buttons" totally wrong. I hadn't listened to my initial idea in so long that I made a different one that isn't what I want it to be. When I get back home I'll re-record how it should be.

(Well, I guess it's not totally different, just a rhythm nuance on one part of the song. Either way, it will sound way cooler with the original idea implemented.)

band name

Unread post by D »

Alright, so I know every one is conflicted about the whole band name thing. But I just recently came up with one that I like a lot. I tried coming up with a band name that had any sort of mutual significance to the entire band. When I realized, there is no mutual interest that everyone in the band shares except the band itself. We are basically a number of individuals whose only mutual interest is the band. So in the idea of individuals I was thinking the band name "ones"(as in 1's). Basically it entails a number of philisophical conotations, but in regards to the band, basically its to state that we are a singular group with multiple people, a group of one's as it were. I don't know, I like it. I can't explain it on this thing very well. But I like the name, and can only hope that you guy's will at least consider it. Its also clever cause it's singular and plural at the exact same time. And we should get a new band name b4 we put out the EP, and t-shirts.

Of course there is the other side, which says that why would we be known as Vinyl for 2 years, and then change our name just as we put out a CD?

Another thing: what's everyone's schedules in the following weeks after our Flood week? Or maybe a better question is: can any of us get any additional recording time done when not at Flood doing the EP? I am fully prepared to drop everything and get all my parts for all the songs going on the LP whenever I'm not at Flood. I leave on the 5th or 6th for Colorado and won't be back until the 15th. Ho-hum?

I think that might be a guy I know from Iowa City. Just based on his name, he said his friends always called him "the Bear."
